Nathalie Marquez Courtney is a jounalist and photographer based in Dublin, Ireland. She is the editor of KISS, Ireland's only magazine for teenage girls and a keen photographer who shoots everything from weddings and newborn sessions to fashion editorials and still lifes. She loves living in Dublin, chocolate-covered pretzels and her two nephews. She hates writing about pages, and finds talking about herself in the third person makes it all a bit easier. Despite this, she has compiled a random collection of facts below, so that you may get to know her a little bit better, if you like.

  •  My family own a circus. I was much too nerdy growing up for acrobatics and yes, I do find it funny that I kind of ran away from the circus in order to go to college. Despite this, I feel more than anything it was circus life that gave me the skills that led to every success I've ever had. (You try making candyfloss while a kernel of scorching popcorn falls down your top in front a queue of people right before the trapeeze act starts and you'll know what I mean.)
  •  I was born in Mexico, and lived there until I was six or seven. So even though I'm a magazine editor who has to sub-edit on a very regular basis, I'm technically working in my second language. (I blame every typo and grammatical error I've ever made on that).
  •  I went to boarding school in Naas, Co Kildare until I was 13. Yes, I did read Malory Towers and yes we did try to have a midnight feast. But we got caught by one of the Sisters (who wasn't wearing her habit, which freaked us all out) and that was the end of that. The boarding school is now a fancy hotel.
  • I love interior design, and one of the highlights of my year was having my small one-bedroom apartment featured in the Welcome to My Home section of Stellar Magazine. (It also helped validate every Etsy purchase I've ever made.
  • )Even though I love pastels, wildflower floral arrangements and all things Orla Kiely, I'm also a huge fan of
  •  I am a total gadget geek. Blame early exposure to a Gameboy and one of those rulers that had a calculator built into it.
